When $4,000 Hits the Ground: A Lesson in Preparation and Purpose
A Split-Second Disaster on the Mission Field
We were on our way to the first video shoot of the day—excited, prepared, and ready to capture powerful stories from the field. Then, in an instant, disaster struck.

Frank’s $4,000 Sony camera and lens slipped from his camera belt, crashing to the ground. The impact shattered the filter, jammed the lens, and bent the contacts. No matter what I tried, the lens wouldn’t detach. The camera was completely useless.
At that moment, standing in the middle of the mission field, he had a choice: dwell on what was lost or pivot and keep going.
Just take a look at some of the damage in the photo.
Why Preparation is Everything
One thing we’ve learned in missions is that you have to be ready for anything. Equipment can fail, travel plans can change, luggage can be lost, hard drives can crash and delete all content. Unexpected obstacles will arise. But the mission—the call to bring hope and truth to those in need—does not stop.
Thankfully, Frank had a backup plan. His simple iPhone became the primary camera, and we continued filming without missing a beat. It was a humbling reminder that the tools we use are secondary to the message we carry. The technology may fail, but God’s work continues.

Looking Ahead: Another 1,000 Bibles, Another Mission
In just a few months, we’re heading out again. This time, we’ll be distributing another 1,000 Bibles to communities hungry for the Word of God. Every trip is an opportunity to place the Gospel into the hands of those who have never owned a Bible before—many who have been waiting their entire lives to read Scripture in their own language.
We go not just to deliver books, but to ignite transformation. Each Bible represents a life changed, a family impacted, and a community touched by the power of God’s Word.

Why This Mission Matters
The reality is, millions of people still lack access to Scripture. In many remote areas, owning a Bible is a privilege, not a given. When we place a Bible into someone’s hands, we are planting seeds that will continue to grow long after we leave.
That’s why we keep going—even when the unexpected happens. Whether it’s a broken camera or unforeseen challenges, nothing will stop us from pressing forward.

How You Can Be Part of This Mission
This journey is bigger than any one of us. If you want to be part of something life-changing, here’s how you can help:
✅ Pray for our upcoming mission trip in May and the communities receiving Bibles.
✅ Give to help fund the distribution of another 1,000 Bibles.
✅ Share this story to raise awareness about the need for Scripture in hard-to-reach places.
Our next mission is just around the corner. Will you join us?
